Abstact

Serayu watersheds in Central Java, Indonesia is one of the ecological assets for the fishery production. Distribution of fish, reflecting fishery production, depend highly on an aquatic productivity and an migration access. Observations showed that the distribution of flathead goby fish (Glossogobius giuris) in the Serayu watershed was only found in Tajum River. This phenomenon could be happened due to migration path to other rivers was blocked by Serayu Moving Dam. Dam construction without fishway might be a limiting factor for flathead goby fish (G.giuris) to migrate. Other factors could be natural food availability and aquatic environmental conditions. Feed composition for bloso fish was determined using a formula of index of preponderance (IP). The results showed that based onits feed composition flathead goby fish could be chategorized as carnivorous fish. Their principal feed consisted of insects, crustaceans, and small fish with their respective IP value 33.26%, 27.08% and 27.41%. Another additional food was zooplankton with the IP of 11.34%. While phytoplankton and other unidentified matersare chategorized as additional feed with respective IP value of 0.44% and 0.47%.
